Is the trunk supposed to be free standing?

Yes! The trunk functions like an ottoman, so you can move it around to use as a side table or footrest. If you want to permanently attach it to your sofa, you can do so using the crocodile clips. 

Please note: If you have an older version of the Everyday Sofa, your existing crocodile clips may be too short. If so, please reach out to our team, and we will send you a replacement set free of charge.
