Can I put my Slideaway next to a sunny window?

We don’t recommend placing the Slideaway in direct sunlight to preserve colour integrity. Over time, direct UV exposure can cause fading, weaken the fabric, and alter its texture. To maintain your covers in their best condition, keep them out of direct UV. 

Indirect UV (i.e a bright room without direct sunlight) can also cause colour fading, albeit at a much slower pace. All upholstery fabrics are subject to natural ageing and colour variation when exposed to indirect UV. This does not affect the structural integrity or performance of the product.

Please consider the lighting conditions of your space when choosing your Slideaway sofa cover. While we recommend avoiding UV exposure for all Slideaway fabric colours, the lighter colour options are generally more forgiving and will show less visible fading over time.

Different fabric types have varying levels of fade resistance. For example, due to the enzyme dyeing techniques used, our Linen fabric will fade quicker than our Classic Weave fabric, which has a very high colour fastness rating.
